Choose one of the following tile adhesives ELASTIC (p. 254), EXTRA POWER (p. 255) or GOLD (p. 256) and D-5 (p. 236) for slabs (Karystos, Pelion etc.). It is absolutely necessary to create expansion joints around the perimeter of the surface and on every 16 to 20m2 so to effectively protect the lining from detachments and cracks of its elements, due to expansions and contractions. Fill the properly prepared expansion joints with the polyurethane sealant DUROFLEX-PU (p. 249). Prime the newly created expansion joints with PRIMER-PU (p. 263), install the backer rod DS-265 (p. 246) of DUROSTICK. Depending on the type of the lining material, grout by choosing the appropriate grouting product, so as to ensure the unbreakable connection between the lining elements and to avoid common problems such as cracks, disintegration, discoloration and staining of the new grout. Grout any type of tile with the FLEXIBLE & OIL REPELLENT GROUT (p. 278) or one of the CEMENTITIOUS GROUTS of DUROSTICK, (1-10mm, 5-20mm) (p. 275), with the addition of either improving emulsion DUROMAX (p. 251) or D-20 (p. 233). Grout all stone linings with the specially made grout D-4 (p. 235) of DUROSTICK. Waterproof the cementitious grouts of the lining with D-16 HYDROSTOP (p. 232), to protect them from moisture penetration. Ideally, and only if the tiles are absorbent, waterproof the entire lining with D-29 SPOT FREE (p. 234). Finally, waterproof natural or artificial stones with RENOLIT (p. 266). Complete the installation by protecting and decorating the stone lining with D-12 (p. 232), VISTA (p. 271), DECOLUX (p. 241) or DECOFIN POLYURETHANE (p. 241), depending on our aesthetic requirement for satin, gloss or matte finish. The addition of ANTISLIP ADDITIVE POWDER (p. 229) to the floor protection varnishes will give them a non-slip surface, even when wet.
