Carefully remove the detached element (e.g., tiles). Clean the underside of the element from the possible adhesive residues and from the substrate where the tile was detached from. Reinstall the detached element (tile, granite) with the flexible tile adhesive, GOLD (p. 256). In case that is impossible to remove the existing adhesive from the substrate or even the element, then reinstall it using the liquid tile adhesive, No37 (p. 279). Install stone slabs with the stone adhesive D-5 (p. 236) of DUROSTICK that can also be used for their grouting. The installation of marble tiles/pieces with the marble and granite adhesive D-23 is recommended (p. 234). Cracked lining elements should be removed and replaced with new ones when possible. Detachment or cracks of the lining’s element (tile, marble, stone, other) When disintegrated grouting is located, it is important to first check for the extent of the problem and whether it involves a large or small section of the lining and the existence or not of expansion joints. If there are no expansion joints, the first priority should be their creation (find out how to on another section of the manual). Then, carefully remove the disintegrated grouts, (so as not to injure the sides of the tiles), with the GROUT SCRAPER (p. 280). Regrout, ideally with the epoxy grout DUROPOXY (p. 251) or with the FLEXIBLE & OIL REPELLENT GROUT (p. 278) of DUROSTICK. Carefully remove the remnants of the existing sealant and clean the area well using the special mold & mildew remover spray D-95 CLEANER (p. 240). Rinse the area thoroughly with water and after the surfaces are completely dry, seal the fixtures with the mold & mildew resistant SILICONE (p. 281), available in 5 colors.
