Repair & Renovation Guide 121 NOTES: • For damage of limited extent and depth, where only the topcoat of plaster has been affected, it is recommended to apply the flexible, multipurpose repair mortar MEGAFIX (p. 261) and then continue with the next steps (filling/skimming, if desired, priming, and painting), as described above. • In case of small surface cracks, the application of the flexible fiber-reinforced cementitious sealant for cracks from 1-15mm) SUPER FLEX POWDER (p. 269) is recommended. For capillary cracks and holes, use the lightweight, repair acrylic putty ULTRALIGHT PUTTY (p. 276). Continue with priming and painting, as described before. 2.6 Cracks in plaster around doors & windows and on the seal between door & window mouldings and wall plaster SOLUTION • Remove weathered and worn or damaged sealants with a razor or putty knife. • Clean the joint well, removing foreign objects and dust. • Repair the cracks around the mouldings using special repair products, such as SUPER FLEX POWDER (p. 269) or D-66 REPAIR (p. 238). • Fill the joint with the multipurpose elastomeric sealant & adhesive DS POLYMER (p. 242) in cartridge form using the heavy-duty PROFESSIONAL CARTRIDGE GUN (p. 277).
